Booking & Payment
How do I book a session?
Start by sending us a message or booking a consultation. Weddings, engagements, birthdays, and events require a consultation so we can talk through your vision, timeline, and logistics before booking is confirmed. Once everything is set, a deposit via invoice holds your date.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible — especially for weddings. Dates fill up quickly, particularly in spring and fall. For portrait and studio sessions, a few weeks of notice usually works, but sooner is always better.
What payment methods do you accept?
Invoice, Cash, Venmo, Zelle, and Credit/Debit Card.
When is the remaining balance due?
Final payment is due at least 24 hours before your session or event. Bookings without final payment by that deadline are automatically cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
What is your cancellation policy?
At least 24 hours notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice forfeit the deposit. Rescheduling is subject to availability. See the full Booking Policy for details.

How many photos will I receive?
It depends on your package and session type. Each package is different, so reach out and we'll walk you through exactly what's included for your session.
What should we wear?
We're happy to make suggestions based on your location and the weather. As a general rule: wear something that represents you and that you feel comfortable in. For group sessions, coordinated tones — not matching outfits — tend to photograph beautifully.
Will it just be you at the shoot?
Mykel works solo most of the time. For large venues and large events where broader coverage makes sense, a second shooter is brought along. It really depends on the venue and event type.
Do you offer videography?
Yes, on a limited basis and by arrangement. Please call to discuss availability and what that looks like for your event.
Photos & Editing
Do you shoot in black and white?
All photos are delivered in color. If you would like black and white edits included for appropriate shots, just let Mykel know ahead of your session and we will be happy to accommodate.
Do you provide RAW files?
No. Images are delivered as professionally edited, high-resolution JPEGs. RAW files are not included in any package.
What is your editing style?
Natural and authentic. Every image gets professional color correction and exposure adjustment. Temporary imperfections are cleaned up as standard. We do not do heavy retouching or compositing — the goal is to look like the best version of yourself, not a different person. The photographer selects the final delivered images.
When will I receive my photos?
For weddings, birthdays, and events: 3 to 5 sneak peek images within 24 hours, and your full gallery within 2 weeks. For portrait, engagement, and studio sessions: within 1 week.
How are photos delivered?
Via an Adobe Lightroom online gallery. You will receive a link to view and download your high-resolution images.
How long do I have access to my gallery?
Gallery access is available for 90 days from the delivery date. Please download and back up your photos promptly. We are not liable for loss of images after the gallery expires.
Can I print or share my photos?
Yes. Every package includes personal use rights and a print release so you can enjoy and print your photos freely. We just ask that you credit @mykelstudios when sharing on social media. Commercial use of any image requires prior written permission.
Travel & Logistics
Do you travel for sessions?
Yes. We have worked across the Pacific Northwest and far beyond, including Ghana and Mexico. Travel fees apply for locations more than 20 miles from Everett, WA. If you have a destination in mind, reach out and we will work something out.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Outdoor sessions can be rescheduled for severe weather at no charge. We will discuss a backup indoor option during your consultation so you are never left without a plan.
What if there is a photographer emergency?
In the unlikely event of illness or emergency, your session will be rescheduled at the next available date or you will receive a full refund. Backup equipment is always on hand in case of gear failure.
